We are pleased to announce that we will reopen our Church on Pentecost weekend, May 30 and 31. Please be patient with the new guidelines that will be in effect. We will follow the usual weekend Mass schedule. Local authorities have strongly encouraged that all churches strictly follow safety protocols, or else reconsider opening for public worship.
The Church has been cleansed before the first Mass this weekend and we have trained volunteers to ensure health and safety. However, we need your cooperation! Here are some things to observe:
1. Face masks are mandatory as you enter and exit the church. Love thy neighbor and make a sacrifice for him or her. Once you are seated at social distance, you may remove your mask if you desire. If this presents an issue, please consider watching the Mass Video on YouTube.
2. Maintain social distancing (6 feet) from anyone not in your household. Please do not sit in pews or areas where the missals are placed on the seats or there is masking tape with a blue line in front. We are closing every other pew and sections of pews to maintain safe distances. Follow
the instructions of the ushers so we can safely accommodate the allowed number of parishioners in the Sanctuary.
3. Please follow the directions of the ushers as you enter and depart. Foot traffic will flow in one direction only. Everyone will enter and depart the Sanctuary through the Narthex. At the end of Mass, parishioners may leave through any door, but we ask that social distances be maintained.
4. You are encouraged to perform hand hygiene when entering and exiting the church. While hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance, to avoid congestion, it is recommended that you bring your own. No gloves are to be worn.
5. Vulnerable individuals, such as those 65 and older, or with underlying health conditions, should continue to shelter in place. Those who are uncomfortable with gathering at this time for Mass, are excused from attending. The dispensation of the Sunday Mass obligation continues until further notice.
6. With regard to infants, toddlers and small children, we are asking parents to consider not bringing them to Mass if they cannot be controlled. The cry room will have limited
seating.
7. If you do not feel well, have or recently had a fever, have a regular sneeze or cough, please stay home.
8. Holy Communion will be distributed at Mass on the hand only as the ministers pass between the empty rows of pews. There will be no Communion on the tongue. We humbly ask for your understanding. This policy must be followed for the safety of our priests and Eucharistic ministers. If you cannot receive communion by hand, please consider the Spiritual Act of Communion.
9. Kneelers and Missals will not be used during Mass in the Sanctuary. We are relying on volunteers to disinfect the pews and chairs after each Mass. This is enough of a task without having to disinfect the kneelers and missals. Your cooperation is appreciated.
10. Singing will not be allowed for the safety of the congregation. During the Mass when there is an acclamation “And with your spirit” or prayer “Our Father”, please speak with a quiet tone as if you were speaking to the person next to you.
11. The bathroom will be closed. Use bathrooms only if this is an emergency. Please see an usher should you need to use it.
12. Offertory baskets will not be distributed during Mass. The ushers will walk with a basket in the empty pew rows to take up the collection. Otherwise, we encourage you to continue giving online.
13. We encourage and promote community at St. Mary of the Angels. There will be a time and place for this to resume, but now is not the time in light of these restrictions. After Mass, we encourage everyone to depart to their vehicles. We promise that at the appropriate time, we will have a fitting celebration together as one Body of Christ! Until then, the safety of you and your loved ones is our top priority.

Nos complace anunciar que reabriremos nuestra Iglesia el fin de semana de Pentecostés, 30 y 31 de mayo. Tenga paciencia con las nuevas pautas que estarán vigentes. Seguiremos el horario normal de misas de fin de semana.
